Clinical Results
Our published proof-of-principle clinical trial tested the formulation over four weeks. We achieved a 40% reduction in existing tartar in just four weeks using our formulation. In contrast, the control group experienced a 12% increase. This result, achieved with our specific tartar-degrading formulation, was published in a peer-reviewed, open-access journal.
The Science Behind Tartarase™
Like rebar in reinforced concrete, DNA and proteins are the matrix that supports the development of tartar. The way we found to cut these matrix molecules safely is with the enzymes in Tartarase, a Pontis Biologics, Inc. product under the cosmetics pathway. We are also doing developmental work to improve our product and generate an analogous one for the veterinary market.
